The Friday night gatherings begin at 7:00 P.M. with refreshments at the Seymour Inn. Circa 7:30 P.M. we’ll move to the Town Hall Meeting Room for a presentation by a special guest speaker.

Litchfield County in the American Revolution
Local historian and author, Pete Vermilyea will discuss his latest book which explores the significant role of this Connecticut County in the war. The book uses personal stories to illustrate the complex local impact of the American Revolution.

Backpacking 8000 miles on the Triple Crown Trails
Ed Kostak has hiked the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Coast Trail. His presentation will focus on his most recent trek, the Continental Divide Trail.

The Hartford Circus Fire
In 1944 one the worst fire disasters in American history occured in Hartford, Connecticut. This presentation by the Conecticut Museum of Culture & History wil use photos and artifacts from their collection to help tell the stories of that day.

Special Concert at the Colebrook Church
Greenwood’s Consort will entertain with music ranging from Renaissance to Modern.

The CHS will be open on Saturday, December 12th, 9:00 A.M. to noon so bids can be finalized and the treasures taken home.
Mission
The mission of the Colebrook Historical Society shall be to promote and encourage historical, antiquarian and genealogical research; to preserve and publish same; to educate the community; to collect and display antiquarian and historical objects and records, and to preserve the Rock School building.
The Society shall reach out to the community at large to provide creative, educational, historical and entertaining experiences. The Society shall employ both traditional and contemporary communications platforms to promote and maintain the relevance of the organization.
